Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

StudoPeer (“we”) helps Vanier College students share information about teachers. We take your privacy seriously and aim to comply with Quebec’s Law 25 and applicable Canadian privacy law. This page explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

  • Account info — your name and email (from sign-up or Google).
  • Schedule uploads — we read the teacher names from your screenshot in our server's memory and do not store the image. We keep only a one-way fingerprint (to block duplicate uploads) and the teacher names.
  • Activity — teachers you’ve listed, points, unlocks, reviews, and messages you send.

How your information is shared

Your name and email are shared only with a registered student who spends a point to unlock a teacher you listed, so they can ask you for help — and only after you give consent. We never sell your data or share it for advertising.

AI teacher insights

To help students choose teachers, your activity on Studopeer — including your reviews and conversations — may be stored and used, in anonymized and aggregated form, to generate AI-written teacher summaries for other students. These summaries are synthesized: they do not quote you, name you, or reveal who said what, and they are AI-generated opinions, not statements of fact. You can opt out or request deletion at any time (see “Your rights” below).

Where data is stored

Data is stored with our infrastructure providers (Supabase and Vercel) on secured servers. Uploaded screenshots are not retained — they are processed in memory to read teacher names and then discarded.

Your rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal information, and withdraw consent, at any time by contacting privacy@studopeer.com. We’ll respond within the timelines required by law.
